Don’t Let Me Go (Choose Me), Diptych, 2009. Represents my longing to be chosen (by God, by people). My struggle really began when I went to Israel. I realized God chose this people group over all others and this really sparked something in me. I wanted to be special. I wanted someone to hold me and never let me go. I wanted to be wanted.
The meaning goes further but that’s the main gist of it. Left side is a scan of my arms/hands. Right side includes a map of Israel, a shekel, a flower, receipts, and a portion of Galatians 3:29.
Watercolor on Yupo, 2009.
